Fishing and Eco Tours

Trophy Florida large-mouth Bass are ferocious fighters and love the lake habitats located here at ChampionsGate. Our expert guides will hook you up with one of these giant lunkers. Omni Outfitters offers both shore and kayak fishing with artificial baits. Blue Gill and Black Crappie are also lurking in the depths so you never know what you may reel in. Your experience will be customized from beginner to advanced and our guides are experienced in both spin and fly fishing.

Guests depart from the ChampionsGate Clubhouse throughout the day. Advance reservations are suggested to ensure your preferred times, but are not required. All trips are subject to availability. Guests can request a complimentary shuttle from the resort, Sunset Lodge or Villas, to and from the clubhouse.

Shore and Kayak Fishing:
- $40 per hour, per adult and $20 per hour, per child, 17 and under (must be accompanied by an adult).
Two-hour Eco Tours:
- $50 per adult and $30 per child, 17 and under (must be accompanied by and adult)
Fly Casting Instruction:
- $50 per hour (two hours is recommended)

Fishing equipment is provided. Fishing excursions are catch and release, and no fishing license is required. Outdoor clothing recommended. Insect repellent, hat and sunscreen are suggested and are available for purchase at the Golf Clubhouse.

Captain Eric Gilhart

Captain Eric Gilhart, born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, spent much of his childhood hiking and fishing. He served in the US Air Force for 25 years and spent his leisure time devoted to learning the elegant art of fly casting, shooting rapids as a part-time river boat guide and becoming a Coast Guard licensed boat captain and a certified Scuba rescue diver. Eric has served as lead fly cast instructor and outfitter guide, is a Certified Florida Master Naturalist and is able to identify many of the birds and wildlife indigenous to ChampionsGate.
