Fort Worth Zoo

Fort Worth Zoo opened in 1909 with just one lion, two bear cubs, an alligator, a coyote, a peacock and a few rabbits. Today it is home to more than 7,000 native and exotic animals. Fort Worth Zoo provides a fun day for the whole family with several indoor and outdoor exhibits including Penguins, Asian Falls, Raptor Canyon, Cheetahs, the Australian Outback/Great Barrier Reef, Texas Wild! and many more. Not only can kids learn about some of the most endangered species or some of our favorite animals like the elephants and giraffes, they can also experience Texas Wild!, a hands-on exhibit that showcases the unique wildlife of the Lone Star State and includes a petting zoo and carousel.
