Welcome to the Bretton Woods Ski School. Learning to ski or snowboard can be a life-changing experience. Join countless others who have made their first turns after a lesson with a Bretton Woods instructor. Many of our professional instructors are PSIA and AASI certified, bringing you the highest quality instruction. From first-time skiers and riders to the experienced looking to break through to the next level, our instructors are ready to provide a learning experience tailored to your needs.

Reservations are required in advance through our online store. We may offer a limited number of same-day lessons. We highly recommend making reservations in advance. Students should meet their ski and snowboard instructors at the Ski School Meeting Place near the Learning Center lift. All participants must have a lift ticket and equipment ready to go. 

Ski School Lesson Checklist:

How early do I arrive at Bretton Woods on the day of my lesson(s)?

• 1 hour prior to lesson if you are renting equipment
• 30 mins prior to lesson if you have your own equipment

*We recommend giving yourself enough time to get dressed, pick up lift passes, and then time to walk outside to meet your instructor 5 minutes prior to the start time of your lesson.

*Lesson time will not be extended if the student is late.

What should the students wear for lessons?

Clothing should be appropriate for the weather of the day, warm and waterproof. Hat, neck warmer, jacket, snow pants, gloves or mittens, goggles or sunglasses. Note: goggles and neck-ups may be required in certain weather conditions.

• Don’t wear the same socks in your ski boot that you wear to the ski area. You will sweat in that sock and then be putting a wet sock in your boot. Modern ski boots are pretty warm so one pair of socks is enough.
• The only clothing that goes into the ski is your sock.
• Things like sweatpants will be very uncomfortable when you tighten the ski boot on your shin and ankle. The snow cuff of your ski pants will go over the boot top to keep snow from getting into the ski boot.

Where do students go for lessons? (Ages 4+ to Adult)

• The coach will meet the student at the designated lesson start time, on snow, out by the Learning Center Quad.
