The Omni Homestead Resort Appoints New Director of Sales and Marketing
Richard A. Ross, The Omni Homestead Resort’s New Director of Sales and Marketing
HOT SPRINGS, VA (May 17, 2018) – The Omni Homestead Resort, a premier destination located across more than 2,000 scenic mountain acres, recently appointed Richard A. Ross as the new director, sales and marketing for the property. In his role, Ross will lead the departments responsible for catering and convention service, marketing and communications, group sales, revenue management and resort membership in addition to being a member of the resort’s executive leadership committee.
Ross joins The Omni Homestead Resort with over 30 years of operations, sales, marketing and multi-property leadership experience. He has relocated from Dallas, Texas where he was most recently vice president of sales for Remington Hotels. Ross realized his lifelong dream of becoming a hotelier through his first high school job as a busboy at the Hotel Hershey – now the Omni Bayfront in Corpus Christi, Texas – and pursued his goals through studies in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Conrad Hilton College, part of the University of Houston system.
“Richard’s depth of experience, dedication to personalized service and passion for the hotel industry is invaluable to The Omni Homestead team,” said Brett Schoenfield, managing director. “His drive for excellence coupled with his appreciation of the property’s remarkable history will play an important role in elevating our strategy, service and continued authorship of The Homestead story.”
Prior to The Omni Homestead, Ross worked with brands including Hershey, Westin and Hilton Hotels. While at Hilton Hotels, he was the first leader assigned to the pre-opening team of the $285 million Buffalo Thunder Golf Resort & Spa in Santa Fe, NM. Ross also spent three years leading sales and marketing efforts for the beachfront Hilton Sandestin Golf Resort & Spa in Florida.
In his free time, Ross enjoys the outdoors, history and sports. He is joined by his partner Rob and their pet cats, Oscar and Simon. He looks forward to exploring the Hot Springs area and all the vibrant nature, rich history and myriad of unique activities offered on property.
