Bob's Steak & Chop House Opens First New York Location at Omni Berkshire Place
The Iconic American Prime Steakhouse Joins Midtown Manhattan Dining Scene
NEW YORK CITY (November 1, 2016) – Today,
Bob’s Steak & Chop House announces the opening of its newest location at the
Omni Berkshire Place in the heart of midtown Manhattan. It brings with it the same culinary and service standards that Bob’s has been famous for since the original location opened in Dallas, Texas in 1993. This is the 14th location for Bob’s with 13 other restaurants located in Texas, Arizona, California, Tennessee and Florida.
Housed in the former Fireside space, Bob’s Steak & Chop House is a traditional American, Prime Steakhouse. Bob’s offers every premium cut of steak – including the highly sought after prime filet. Bob’s beef has been sourced from the same Chicago meat supplier for 23 years. Along with prime beef, other entrees include rack of lamb, roasted duck, veal chop and pork chop. An array of seafood dishes round out the entrée offerings. To begin, each table is adorned with a jar of half sour pickles and peppers and a hot loaf of fresh bread with a thick slab of butter. Unlike most steakhouses, Bob’s entrees are accompanied by your choice of potato and its signature glazed carrot.
Like the menu, the beverage program at Bob’s is impressive, offering best-in-class wines that pair perfectly with the fare. The list features big American reds, a selection of “old-world” favorites and several wines from New York wineries. The wines are showcased in an elegant temperature-controlled wine room that holds 2,000 bottles and is visible from the dining room. The cocktail menu features signature libations such as the
Dirty Bob with Grey Goose vodka, stuffed house made bleu cheese olives and olive juice; as well as classics with a twist such as the
Mulled Manhattan with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Cointreau, grape juice and orange bitters, and the
Texas Mule with Deep Eddy Ruby Red vodka, Tajin hot sauce, ginger beer and lemon.
The 210-seat restaurant will be known for its lively and inviting atmosphere which features beautiful dining areas, a 40-seat bar and lounge area and two private dining rooms. Bob’s encompasses an old-school steakhouse vibe with slate-grey custom millwork and dark Brazilian cherry hardwood floors, while the elegant glass wine wall and globe-like light fixtures add a touch of modern sophistication. Vintage photography of New York City adorn the walls, and cognac-leather chairs and tables topped with crisp white linen complete the aesthetic.
Maurizio Chiovaro has been appointed as general manager, bringing over 20 years of experience in leading culinary operations. He joins the Bob’s team from his most recent position as general manager at BLT Steak. Executive Sous Chef Stratos Georgedakis, previously of Quality Meats, helms the kitchen.
