Omni fort worth hotel adds "wellness breaks" for meeting attendees
FORT WORTH, Texas (May 17, 2013) – The Omni Fort Worth Hotel will begin offering “Wellness Breaks” activities and menus for groups and associations that hold their meetings at the luxurious downtown property. From nutritious nosh and Limoncello Soda to chair massages and yoga, the hotel’s knowledgeable associates can plan the perfect wellness meeting or gathering.
“Wellness Breaks” are the latest example of Omni addressing the ongoing needs of the health-conscious traveler. In fact, an Omni-commissioned health and wellness survey conducted in 2011 found that more than half (56%) of participants admitted to indulging in various food or beverages when traveling for business and slightly regretting it. That same number said they would like more low-fat options when traveling. Additionally, the report found that travelers had good intentions when it came to workouts, as nearly one-third embarked on a trip with workout gear, but never found the time or energy. Meanwhile, about 26 percent wished their hotel would help with nearby yoga or spinning studios.
The Wellness Breaks will be available before meetings, during a break, after lunch – whenever works best for the attendees and planners. These quick and healthy fitness options include:
- Yoga class led by a professional instructor (30 minutes or an hour, minimum 10 people)
- Stretching break – led by a professional (30 minutes)
- Nutrition class (30 minutes)
- Cooking demonstration – How to cook quick and healthy meals (30 minutes)
- Chair massages (10 minutes each guests) - 3 chairs for 30 or 60 minutes
- Guests can also take advantage of walking through the nearby Water Gardens, a cooling oasis in the heart of downtown; or they can pick up a bike at any conveniently located bike sharing stations, including the Omni, and drop it off when finished
The newly designed “Wellness Breaks” menus include Farm-to-Fort Worth; Sundance Serenity; Zesty Afternoon; Fort Worth Wholesome; and Texas Breeze. Among these menus, many unique and nutritious offerings are available such as roasted fresh baby vegetables; grilled wild mushroom relish on a whole grain crostini; warm spiced poached apples with low fat vanilla cottage cheese; cucumber roll ups stuffed with grapefruit crab salad; pumpkin seed granola bars; and spicy papaya, watermelon and jalapeno seed sunrise juice— just to name a few.
