DALLAS’ MOMENTOUS INSTITUTE TO RECEIVE $100,000 FOR HOLE-IN-ONE BY TOUR PRO MATT JONES AT AT&T BYRON NELSON
Luxury Hotel Brand to Donate to AT&T Byron Nelson Beneficiary if Golf Pro Makes Hole-in-One
DALLAS (May 26, 2015) –
Omni Hotels & Resorts today announced a special supporting role it is playing at this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson golf tournament, where the Momentous Institute of Dallas will be cheering for Omni-sponsored PGA TOUR professional Matt Jones to make a hole-in-one worth $100,000.
Jones, the popular Australian who won the 2014 Shell Houston Open, will be playing for the Momentous Institute in the second round Friday, May 29, when he gets to the par-3 17th hole at the TPC course in Dallas. If Jones makes a hole-in-one at the 17th, Omni Hotels & Resorts will donate $100,000 to the Momentous Institute, owned and operated by the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, which serves 6,000 children and families each year through mental health and education programs.
If Jones does not ace the 17th on Friday, he will try again during Sunday’s final round, provided he makes the cut.
Now in his eighth season on the PGA TOUR, Jones has made one career hole-in-one, at the 2009 U.S. Bank tournament in Milwaukee. In his first year with Dallas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts as a sponsor, Jones is playing in the AT&T Byron Nelson for the first time since 2012.
The 198-yard 17th is a signature hole, featuring an amphitheater design around the green. Protected by water, the green is shaped to allow players to feed their shots toward the hole, placements that tend to be near the water’s edge.
Jones also will get a helping hand from Momentous Institute during Wednesday’s practice round, when two specially selected fifth-graders will be his caddies for the day. To keep up with all things Omni happening at this week’s tournament, follow @omnihotels and #omnigolf on Twitter and Instagram.
