There’s no better way to close out 2020 than with festive holiday cocktails. As part of the Omni Originals program Omni Hotels & Resorts whips up a special holiday drink menu. Guests have enjoyed specialty cocktails during December from the Stay A Part of Sugar & Spice menu, and this year we’re sharing the recipes exclusively with you. We hope these easy holiday cocktail recipes are the perfect way to recreate your last Omni experience or to celebrate the holiday season from home.
Vanilla Espresso Martini
Let’s be honest, the busy holiday season makes it tough to ring in the New Year. So, if you need help staying up until the clock strikes midnight, this holiday cocktail from the 2020 menu has the shot of espresso you’ll need to keep going.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Ketel One vodka
- 1 oz Caffé Borghetti espresso liqueur
- 0.5 oz Monin Vanilla syrup
- 2 dashes chocolate bitters
Directions: Stir all ingredients with ice, then strain into a glass.
2020 Holiday Cocktails: Gingerbread Sour
The mocktail trend continues into 2021. For adults and kids, or those getting a jump start on dry January, this ginger mocktail takes centerstage during gingerbread season. The recipe features the non-alcoholic spirit, Seedlip.
Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Apple-Pear Barmalade
- 1 oz Seedlip Spice 94
- 0.5 oz Monin Peach syrup
- 0.25 oz lemon juice
- 3 dashes cardamom bitters
- 1 egg white
- 2 oz ginger beer
Directions: Combine all ingredients except ginger beer. Add ice, and shake vigorously. Then, pour over fresh ice in a tall glass and top with ginger beer. Garnish with dehydrated apple slices.
Holiday “Sangria”
If you’re serving holiday cocktails for the family, warm up some Pinot noir spiced with apples, oranges, pears, cinnamon and more.
Ingredients:
- 25.4 oz Parker Station by Fess Parker Pinot Noir
- 4 oz spiced pear purée
- 2 oz apple cider
- 2 star anise
- 2 orange slices
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 peach slices
- 1/4 c sugar
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Serve in a mug.
Sparkling Peach Kolaczki
This sparkling holiday cocktail is an elegant twist on the traditional glass of champagne. It is inspired by the buttery, fruit-filled holiday cook, the Peach Kolacki. Plus, you can enjoy it alongside the traditional Polish cookie with a recipe from Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center.
Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Absolut Elyx
- 0.25 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur
- 0.75 oz peach purée
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 3 oz Moet & Chandon Brut
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake well. Serve by double straining drink into a sugared champagne flute and serve.
Peach Kolaczki Cookie
Ingredients:
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 12 oz butter
- 3 c flour
- 14 oz peach filling
- confection sugar and granulated sugar for dusting
Directions: Beat cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Add flour one cup at a time until well mixed. Refrigerate dough for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough to 1/2″ thick on a surface dusted with equal parts sugars. Cut into 2″ squares. Place 1/2 – 1 tsp of peach filling into center of each square. Fold opposite corners to overlap in the center. Bake for 15 minutes, until just brown. Dust with confectioners sugar and eat within a couple of days.
Golden Bourbon Cocktail
Elevate your favorite bourbon with a cocktail enhanced with sweet notes of ginger, apple and brown sugar.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon
- 0.5 oz Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur
- 2 oz apple cider
- 0.25 oz brown sugar syrup
- 0.25 oz fresh lemon juice
Directions: Combine all ingredients and shake with ice. Then, strain into a cocktail glass with a golden sugar rim.
Nine Ladies Dancing
Ring in the New Year with holiday cocktails from 2017’s 12 Drinks of Christmas menu that will have you dancing the night away.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz The Botanist gin
- 0.5 oz St-Germain elderflower liqueur
- 1 oz spiced cranberry purée
- 1 lemon wedge, squeezed
- 1 oz Chandon Rosé sparkling wine
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Strain into a flute glass and top with Chandon Rosé sparkling wine.
Autumn Whiskey Sour
You can create this sophisticated, yet simple, cocktail from Omni Hotel at The Battery Atlanta at home. Impress your guests with a classic whiskey sour with a seasonal twist.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz rye whiskey
- 0.75 oz fall syrup*
- 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- a few dashes of bitters
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing tin and shake well. Strain into a coup glass. Garnish with a dehydrated apple.
*Fall syrup
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1 cup of demerara sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp peppercorn
- pinch of salt
Directions: Heat over a stove until all sugar is dissolved, fine strain and let cool. Store in the refrigerator.
